One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. ~Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright, Pavarotti, My Own Story

Jane Thai

The family was craving for some thai food and after hearing about this place over the radio, we decided to pop by. It's at Simpang Bedok, which is relatively convenient for and familiar to us easties.

It's a decent sized shop with lacquered wooden dining tables and chairs. Went through the menu and we ordered a couple of dishes to go with rice.

The bandung came with petals in it which enhanced the taste of the drink.

Thai fish cake was okay, not too spicy. And the Kang Kong in the background IS DAMN GOOD. Not sambal kangkong but bean sauce kangkong. It's really refreshing and makes the crunchy kangkong taste really really fresh!

Basil leaf chicken a bit too spicy for my liking. But i like long beans. This one's a bit rubbery. There's the rubbery long beans and the non-rubbery kinds. I prefer the non-rubbery kinds. Maybe it has smth to do with the way it's cooked? Idk.

Grilled squid. Quite close to the one i had from a streetside hawker stall in Bangkok but still not as good definitely. This is good enough and would be better if it was slightly softer.

Go check it out!
