It's nice but not one of the best i've tasted definitely. What i think is nicer, is the signature tofu at the back. DAMN GOOD. Fried till the right amount of crisp and the inside is still soft! :)

Momiji
Aunt bought me dinner at Momiji Jap Restaurant and it was surprisingly filled. I never expect this place to be so popular since city square itself is kinda blah. I took like at most ten mins to finish walking the levels.
Okay la, the buffet spread wasn't extensive but satisfying enough. They have few of my favourite food, like the hotpot soup thing (idk what is it called and dont feel like googling it), salmon sashimi, taco balls, chawanmushi, snow crab, baked oysters and cakes.
The snow crab not very sweet and abit small thus a hassle to pry open. I LOVE the soup. A must have for every jap buffet!!! It keeps making you want more. Sashimi also so-so.
The cakes were average, nothing very wow except that they look pretty. There's always room for dessert, so i would always make it a point to try all desserts. The cream puff and the mochi, and the tart like thing are nice. Nice like the "i'm full but i dont mind having another one" kind, not the "omg heavenly!!" kind.
It's typically just a jap buffet restaurant with the standard jap food. So dont expect too much!

Curry Chicken Noodles.
If you think that my family eats good and overpriced food every meal, pls clear that misconception. I dont think that hawker food is overpriced. We have most of our breakfasts at hawker centres and i love hawker food. Economic and good! I know ppl who totally shun off hawker centres because they think it's dirty, beneath their class (act atas), hot and stuffy, unhygenic etc. It's really not that bad. They're just spoilt.
One of my favourite place is the hawker at kovan. I actually ONLY eat from 4 stalls there for breakfast. One of it is this teochew noodle stall facing the carpark. Forever long queue so quite easy to spot.
But i dont like teochew noodle, so i'll have their curry chicken noodle. The curry VERY SHIOK. It's not those curry with super strong curry powder smell. It's the kind they cook with hei bi i think. THINK only ah.
The chicken comes in big slices and not the dry dry kind they always use in noodles. It's like chicken rice standard kind of chicken. Then got fish cake and tau pok. But really, the curry is so good, you dont really need to have all the other ingredients! Plus i dont like tau pok. I dont think they'll serve it without any ingredients right?

Fried Fish for Dinner.
I never liked fried fish. But this zi char stall (i think it's called hao xiang, and they have a branch in amk too) near my house area was having a promotion. So we order the fried fish, i thnk sea bass. Not sea bass then red garoupa lor.
I like the soup though, salted veg tofu soup. I dont have soup cooking at home on a regular basis so having soup is refreshing :) THE ONE ON THE RIGHT, IS THE HIGHLIGHT. It's marmite chicken! Very very nice! Must try regardless you like marmite or not! :)

Vongole.
I love Vongole and this is by far the cheapest one i've tasted which taste good! Who says good italian food has to be expensive? The clams were fresh and the pasta not soggy at all.
This is from a coffee shop at Siglap. The older generation calls it the "old siglap market" coffee shop. It's just beside the supermarket! Not too sure about the history of the stall. But this taste good, so that information is redundant :)

Double Tasty Crispy Chicken Burger.
McDonald's is my most accessible fast food and one of my favourite i could eat them everyday! Most importantly they have delivery and it's so bloody convenient, except that when the weather is bad they dont deliver.
This is their latest product and I LOVE IT. I've always liked mcspicy but as the name suggests, it's too spicy for me! But i love the chicken so i would always tahan and eat it. This is the answer to my prayers man. I call this the McNonSpicy. Plus i like the sauce. McSpicy uses mayo and i've recently stopped eating mayo, but no mayo makes it very dry so... yeah.
I hope this item is on the menu and not just one of their seasonal burgers! :)

Avalon again.
I know i always say i dont go to ladies night. It was true. I really rarely attend ladies night. But since it's the first time Avalon gonna have their ladies night on wed, we popped by.
Make a guess, what make up i have on?
Love this tube bustier dress from Stradivarius! The colour is just so pretty i think i might just wear it to death. And it comes with pockets! Belt came with the dress and black/gold clutch from Ldn. Wore it with my bling bling gold heels :)
It's been what, 5 mths since i've been inside. The last time i went i think i liked it there, very comfortable and the music&crowd both good! Never liked too crowded clubs or rowdy crowds.
The music was DAMN good. But the crowd was too weak. I hope more people would go there on weds in future! (not like i would go anymore due to work commitment) And we totally took podium dancing to a whole new lvl. New lvl = rather empty dancefloor.
We left for my lao di fang later. That place would NEVER disappoint :)

Jane Thai
The family was craving for some thai food and after hearing about this place over the radio, we decided to pop by. It's at Simpang Bedok, which is relatively convenient for and familiar to us easties.
It's a decent sized shop with lacquered wooden dining tables and chairs. Went through the menu and we ordered a couple of dishes to go with rice.
The bandung came with petals in it which enhanced the taste of the drink.
Thai fish cake was okay, not too spicy. And the Kang Kong in the background IS DAMN GOOD. Not sambal kangkong but bean sauce kangkong. It's really refreshing and makes the crunchy kangkong taste really really fresh!
Basil leaf chicken a bit too spicy for my liking. But i like long beans. This one's a bit rubbery. There's the rubbery long beans and the non-rubbery kinds. I prefer the non-rubbery kinds. Maybe it has smth to do with the way it's cooked? Idk.
Grilled squid. Quite close to the one i had from a streetside hawker stall in Bangkok but still not as good definitely. This is good enough and would be better if it was slightly softer.
Go check it out!

Salmon Run Pancakes
I haven't been doing much lately so got down to the highly raved Strictly Pancakes at 44A Prinsep Street for some pancakes (duh).
Had already checked out its menu online the night before, they have sweet pancakes and savoury pancakes. For my self-proclaimed undying love for smoked salmon, I ordered the Salmon Run with rum and raisin butter.
Had a chocolate peanut butter shake to go with it. It's really just blended reese peanut butter shake. But I LOVEEE smoke salmon and this did not disappoint. The fluffy pancakes were however a bit too much for me. Didn't really like the maple syrup that they serve, but the rum and raisin butter was something new to me.
I would wanna go back and try their sweet pancakes!

Norwegian Breakfast Set.
Finally the weather was good enough to head down to Wild Honey!
I checked online and saw that Norwegian was off the menu. I admit I was kinda disappointed because I love smoked salmon anything. Had already decided the night before that I would get the Scandinavian. From my understanding it's salmon and rosti? Well, at least there's still salmon.
But boy was I elated when I saw that they have the Norwegian breakfast set in their menu flashed across the screen of their iPad in the shop! So ordered that together with a glass of iced wild mocha dolce and a plate of pan-fried goat cheese salad to share.
I should start off with the mocha. Okay la, I'm not a huge fan of coffee. So I can only say that it taste good enough for my picky tastebuds.
The goat cheese salad, I really like it! I think it's hard to get pan-fried any cheese in Singapore? The last time I had it was when I was in Germany. And I love cheese. So I'm kinda biased. It comes with slabs of cheese as well as portions of toast, minus the sides. I like the texture of the toast, just the right amount of crunch! Like it more than the toasts the breakfast sets come served with. And the salad is served with tomatoes and rocket veg. Not a fan of rocket because they taste a little bitter. BUT the salad sauce made up for everything :)

Now my main course!
It's two poached eggs wrapped with smoked salmon, served on oatmeal toast with avocados and asparagus and dazzled with hollandaise sauce. The egg is a little overcooked though, hard and perhaps I've had too many eggs that day. But I absolutely love the smoked salmon + fish roe + asparagus combo. Like all my favorite food combined together! The toast was a little tough and I don't really like avocado like that. Other than that, it's really yummy! Would definitely order it again after ive tried everything on their menu! :P

Seared Scallop Linguini.
So this fine day I dropped by Marmalade Pantry and decided to try their main course. Have read good reviews on their desserts but just wanted to try something different!
It used to be at Palais and had to walk a little to get there. Oh it was a gloomy day and we decided not to risk it so we sacrificed Wild Honey.
Despite being allergic to prawns, it couldn't stop this prawn based dish from catching my attention. I love prawns. Linguini in tiger prawn bisque accompanied with scallops and prawns.
Can't help but feel that this is fusion pasta? Is this? The soup is filled with lots of tiny dried prawns, taste a little like prawn noodle soup minus the taste of pork and much much richer.
So yes, it's an extremely prawn-y Asian pasta. I would like to think it's Asian. Would love to have this once a week! If only I could splurge on food everyday.
