One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. ~Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright, Pavarotti, My Own Story

Ice Cream

That day mummy came back from the supermarket with this. Looks very normal so I didn't really think too much of it.

But when I tried it, it was fantastic! It's about the same size as magnum mini! It is coated with a super nice and crunchy chocolate and the ice cream is thick and sweet. There are three different chocolate coatings but I like the white one best!

Though it is slightly pricier than average ice cream, it's justifiable because it's Made In France :)

Hooters and Rebel.

Friday's dinner was at Hooters after going by Timbre. And the queue at both places were bad. Maybe because I don't like to wait too long, I.e. more than 15 mins.

Since we were set to hit the clubs, we ordered some food to share and a bottle of beer each.

We had the cheesy sausages which I found a little overcooked. Some buffalo platter which had deep fried, chicken wings, chicken sticks and fried shrimps. The chicken stick was damn hard and chicken wings rather tasteless. Shrimp was crunchy and thank goodness it came with celery and carrot sticks for us to munch on. Cheese fries were really just average and not worth mentioning.

Maybe cause there was too much meat that's why we found it hard to finish them. But we were lucky cause two guys celebrated their birthday and we get to watch some form of entertainment.

Would prefer their main course more. The fish, lamb and beef taste so much better! And the only beer they serve from the tap is Tiger. So... yeah. I had Budweiser ;)

We happily hopped over to Rebel after dins. I must say that the drinks there are rather good, but I didn't see what brands they served. Since i'm on clubbing, may I advise that you don't go Rebel unless you want to be surrounded by bunches of under-20s. And Zirca's music isn't as good!

Lasagna Carnivora.

Finally get to have a meal at Siglap after so long! I like the Thai food and Italian food at this particular coffee shop.

Had their bacon lasagna previously and it was good. So tried the meat one and it wasn't anywhere near disappointing!

I like the creamy cheesy sauce that the lasagna was submerged in. The layers of pasta had yummy tomato-based sauce and was topped off with generous helpings of slices of pepperoni, ham and chopped sausages.

Very economical and tasty pasta that can satisfy your cravings! I would say that this is better that PM's!

Prawn Noodles.

Went by Toa Payoh for breakfast ytd. Mummy read about this recommendation somewhere so we checked it out.

Not too bad. I had the Prawn hor fun and the gravy has a hint of prawn in it. The prawns were shelled and halved but nevertheless sweet and fresh. I'm not a fan of pork so I won't comment on those thin slices of it.

Tried my parents' prawn noodles and it was average. The soup is good but still not the best that i've tasted. The one at Joo Chiat is still the best. A pity the skill wasn't fully imparted!

Red Rock Deli Honey Soy Chicken.

It is true that my life revolves around sleeping and eating on weekends. I guess this explains the weight gain. To think I used to be underweight.

Woke up from a three hour nap and my mum opened a bag of this Red Rock Deli. Awesome shit. I love the chilli one and Honey Soy Chicken was equally good!

As quoted from their description "a harmonious blend of sweet and salty flavours, it combines soy sauce notes with sweet liveliness of Australian honey". It was indeed full of flavour from the tiny specks of flavouring on every piece of potato chip!

Best thing is this is widely available in local supermarkets I think! The first brand that I've tasted which could do meat-flavoured chips well is McCoys. I can't seem to find that flavour in Singapore despite searching for 2 months. So RRD is first for me in sg now!

Wanton Mee.

Yay I have Blogger on my phone now, save me the trouble of switching my netbook on :)

I woke up after a ten hour sleep and my dad suggested going to geylang for breakfast.

We checked out the wanton mee as recommended by 70 year old SLO chairman in today's Sunday Times. We waited around half ah hour and thankfully the noodles didn't disappoint us.

No pictures cos I was too hungry! But the serving was rather big and I had trouble finishing it. Nevertheless the noodles was cooked just right and tasty in dark sauce! I dont like wanton mee in ketchup. The char siew smelled like bak kwa and i find it a little too hard. Wantons had enough meat and flavour in them. However I prefer the dumplings (we ordered dumpling soup too) maybe cos it has prawns and I love prawns.

Would go back again when i'm damn hungry! Otherwise I'm still loyal to my Fei Fei Wanton Mee anytime :)

Toblerone, Strawberry and Durian.

Two months back, I took a trip to London and brought back approximately 10kg of snacks. Snacks that weigh a ton and cost a bomb. Chocolates made up the majority of them as they are good as gifts! They were mostly bought to be given away to family friends and relatives, but the greedy me snagged a few items and kept for my own consumption.

I was looking for something tasty and would look good as a gift and chanced upon this.

The Swiss-produced Toblerone Tobelle's packaging looked so pretty, like a present waiting to be unwrapped! I've always liked Toblerone since young because of the honey and almond nougat which remains after you finish sucking all the milk chocolate while it melts slowly. All that was running through my mind was, who wouldn't like Toblerone?

I finally opened them today and fed them to my parents. One box has 20 slices of chocolates and the size is just right to put everything into your mouth at one go. And it's thinner than the usual ones, probably half of one section of the usual size. I haven't managed to find this in Singapore. Please let me know if you have! As for the taste, i'm sure you know how Toblerone taste like :)

Btw there's fruit and nut flavour too. Can't wait to try them!

So I was chatting with a friend over msn while I was snacking on them, he introduced me a dessert shop in Serangoon Gardens. I immediately told my dad about that place and we checked it out after dinner there. It's called Dessert Bowl, and is located on the second floor on one block of the shop houses there.

I just googled the exact address, it's at 80A Serangoon Garden Way (second floor!), and is closed on Mondays. It's above a lan shop, and just beside it there's another dessert shop as well.

Anyway my friend recommended the Durian Mousse. Not being a huge fan of durian, I got my mum to order that while I ordered the Strawberry Sago and my dad took the Sesame Paste.

I kind of like my SS, or maybe it's just because I like strawberries. It's strawberry ice served together with sago (duh), chopped strawberries, aloe vera and bbt pearls. Rather refreshing! DM was served chill and very very smooth with generous serving of durian flesh. If you love (not just like) durian you'll like it alot. If you do not love durian, maybe consider sharing it with someone! My mum likes durian but she got a little sick of it towards the end, maybe because the serving was a little big for her. The SP was tasty (damn smooth) too, and I thought I tasted peanut as well. No picture cos my dad ate damn fasttttt.

I shall go back again and try all the other desserts! :) And I love the theme of their shop and everything on display :D

Hello.

This blog is created because I love eating (well, who doesn't?) or more specifically, snacking. So instead of tweeting and posting pictures on facebook, an old friend prompted me to start a space like this!

So here I am. I hope I wont bore you with what I eat. I'm a rather fussy eater, but that doesn't hinder me from my quest of affordable meals, delectable desserts and to-die-for snacks. Since i'm usually going around the island for my meals, maybe I could provide you with some meal suggestions.

Just to set the record straight, i'm in no way affliated to any eateries or brands. Neither am I a photographer so I can't really provide sharp pictures with high resolution. I usually just snap away with either my phone, or my webcam. Nor do I have extensive vocabulary to accurately and vividly describe the food :)

Anyway, welcome! :)

P.S. I'd love to learn how to cook/bake!
